    Britannia Mine Museum

The Britannia Mine Museum was established in 1971 to inspire people to explore their connections with mining in BC. In 2010 a completely redeveloped Museum was unearthed and visitors continue to be inspired.
Just like miners did, visitors climb aboard a mine train and rumble into an authentic tunnel. Entertaining guides describe the workings of drills and tools from the past century. Every visit includes gold panning with the chance to take home frequent findings. New galleries and a captivating 15-minute film tell stories of Britannia life and how families turned their isolated surroundings into unforgettable experiences. The Family Play Area keeps young ones entertained. A glittering gift shop offers unique stones and carvings. To reach the Britannia Mine Museum, head north on the Sea to Sky Highway.

Come and check out the ore car and mucking machine at the BC Gem Show.

As always, there will be a great variety of displays of gemstones, crystals and minerals from member clubs. Many cases will contain collections of hand-crafted jewellery and silversmithing.

     Silversmithing

Throughout the show, members will be demonstrating techniques of lapidary, sculpting, faceting, silversmithing, flint knapping, wire wrapping, and enamelling. The gold panning is a very popular demonstration.

    Demonstrators

Among the many features of this, Canada's largest gem show, will be 40+ dealers carrying supplies for the hobby along with specimens of crystals, minerals, cut stones, cutting material and many gift items. Visit the dealers page Show Dealers.
